Thanksgiving Quilt

Over the holidays I visited my cousin. She gave me this wonderful quilt!

It was in a old trunk. It is from the estate of Pauline S. from Wellsville NY. I'm so thrilled with it. It is English foundation pieced. You can still hear the paper crunching in it!

I'm guessing that it is from the late 1800s or early 1900s, but I'm more knowledgeable of fabric from the 1930s and there isn't a single piece in this quilt.

Some of the fabrics are falling apart, but most are still in good shape. There are velvets, wools, cottons. The paper that was used for piecing has handwriting on it.

This is such a cool quilt! Thanks Mary.
